Nest
Nightstand | 600 × 430 x 500 mmH
Concept: Wood Joinery, Colour Exploration
Nest is a sculptural nightstand defined by rhythm, repetition, and restraint. Vertical timber slats form a striking visual enclosure, allowing light and shadow to animate the space while providing structural poise. Beneath, a spacious drawer offers practical storage, concealed within a minimalist silhouette. Crafted in solid oak with a contrasting grain direction, Nest serves as both a functional piece and a quiet architectural statement in the bedroom or living space.

The wood joinery triggered an interesting exploration of colour matching using solid wood, where solid woods are coloured in a very subtle manner. This is to express the wood joinery but also to advocate a sense of warmthness and softness in the sense that the “coldness/hardness” expressed by the technicality when joining wooden parts is softened by the colour selection, which are mainly from the tertiary tones.
